The investor(s) will review all of the information prepared by the founders and the TTO team to assess whether they are prepared to invest in the spin-out company.
University TTO teams and founders will work together to provide access to the necessary information to enable investors to assess the spin-out at this stage. University TTO teams and founders will have different levels of lived experience in preparing the documentation required.
Investor due diligence and analysis
Founders and TTO teams from different universities will have different experiences preparing and assisting with the due diligence process. The IP due diligence checklist and data room guides have been developed to ensure that university TTO teams can be broadly consistent in their approach.
